Description

Clean Harbors located in La Porte TX is seeking a Shredder Feeder Technician to join their team. TheShredder Technicianwill be responsible for using a 6K forklift to load material into a non-hazardous shredder. This position will require working outdoors in non- climate-controlled areas. This position will be responsible for opening containers identifying if waste is going to be compatible for shredding and using a scanner to track inventory. If you enjoy working in small team of 2-3 this may be a great fit for you.

Shift: 2nd shift position (2:30pm to 11pm) training will be completed on a day shift for the first 90 days and will follow a schedule of 6:30am-3:00pm.

Pay: $18.50-20.50 DOE (includes a shift differential which is not paid out during training due to day shift)

Special note: Position may have mandatory overtime such as rotating weekend schedule. Will occasionally be requests for overtime as well such as early starts or 10-hour days if area is behind. Inbound volume dictates this position hours more than most positions. This could be a 55-hour week position one week and then just 40 hours the next.

Bilingual Spanish speaking is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Performs daily tasks of drum pumping drum dumping tank farm operations and offloading trucks;
  • Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for waste tracking movements able to use scanning application.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management.
  • Will train for first 90 days on 1st shift though (6:30am to 3pm)
  • Role will be to use a 6k forklift to load material into non-haz shredder. Some forklift experience required. Position will also work outdoors in non-climate-controlled area. Some experience in outdoors work would be preferred.
  • Position will also open containers QC for shredder capability and use a scanner for inventory tracking. Needs to be detailed oriented.
  • Will work in a 2-to-3-person team. Senior person in this area is the Equipment Operator who runs the excavator nearby. EO will call out for what material they want shredded (more dry material more wet material hold off for a bit until I can mix etc.). Needs to be able to work in a team and follow the lead of a co-worker who is not your supervisor. Someone with a team mindset.
  • Spanish speaking is a plus but not required.


Qualifications

What does it take to work at Clean Harbors

  • High School diploma or equivalent required;
  • Must be 18 years or older;
  • 1 Years of related experience;
  • Fork lift experience preferred (Not Required);
  • Ability to use computer;
  • Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
