Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking an Infrastructure Support Technician Student Intern to provide frontline support to agency staff for the agencys computers servers printers network and telecommunications. The position will install software; manage infrastructure projects (desktop refresh upgrades and patching) for agency staff assist employees and managers with IT procurement issues maintain the software inventory and provide patching for out-of-scope software. A key responsibility is providing exceptional customer service and communicating professionally with staff management vendors and others. #COVAentryleveljobs #COVAinternship

Minimum Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled in an information technology or computer related program. Additional qualifications include the demonstrated ability to provide customer service or support to customers and working in a team environment. Familiarity with hardware and software support including installation and configuration of hardware/software Microsoft Office peripherals mobile phones and printers. Strong organizational time management problem solving and multitasking skills. Must have attention to detail accuracy and the ability to complete assignments on time. The ability to maintain a positive attitude and work harmoniously with others. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to understand technical information and relay information to others in an effective manner. Ability to occasionally pick up equipment that can weigh up to 25 lbs.

Additional Considerations

Knowledge of system administration using Windows Server and related technologies (IIS DHCP DNS Active Directory Terminal Services) antivirus software and scripting tools and knowledge of the purchase of IT goods and services.
