Job Summary
We are looking for a results-driven Financial Controller to lead the finance and accounting functions for BFSI industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting managing complex regulatory compliance and providing strategic financial insights to support the companys growth and sales objectives. This role requires knowledge of US GAAP statutory reporting and expense analysis along with the ability to coordinate across internal and group-level teams for timely and accurate value chain reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Budgeting and Forecasting:Lead the companys annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes collaborating with department heads to develop accurate and realistic financial plans.
- Variance Analysis:Conduct comprehensive budget vs. actual variance analysis to identify significant deviations investigate their causes and report findings to management.
- Expense Control and Cost Savings:Analyse spending patterns and cost drivers to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Propose and implement actionable savings plans across the organization.
- Strategic Advisory:Provide management with data-driven insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making related to financial planning resource allocation and profitability.
- Financial Reporting:Prepare and publish timely financial reports and dashboards that clearly communicate the companys financial performance specifically highlighting budgetary adherence and expense trends.
- Financial Performance Monitoring:Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the financial efficiency of the company and its various departments.
- Process Improvement and Automation:Continuously review and improve budgeting forecasting and financial analysis processes using financial modelling business intelligence (BI) tools and automation.
- Compliance and Internal Controls:Develop document and monitor business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with local state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Leadership and Team Management:Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff fostering a collaborative and efficient department.
- Governance & Regulatory Filings: Oversee preparation and submission of regulatory filings including US GAAP compliance schedules and audit requirements (SOX/IFC). Assist in the preparation of Related Party Transaction (RPT) data for both IGAAP and Ind AS financials. Review and submit data for half-yearly MSME (Micro Small and Medium Enterprises) return filings.
- Internal and Group-Level Coordination: Coordinate the finalization of Value Chain Reporting submission to HDFC Bank collaborating closely with Payroll Admin and IT departments. Prepare and submit the Stress Test report and Significant Transactions report to HDFC Bank quarterly. Provide financial figures and inputs required for the preparation of the Directors Report.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Chartered Accountant (CA) / CMA or equivalent financial qualification.
- At least 12 years of experience in financial controllership statutory reporting concurrent audit and compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP local GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Experience in regulatory filings audits and compliance frameworks.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in ERP systems and advanced Excel/BI tools; strong communication skills.
