Learning Support Assistant Primary SEND - Kensington & Chelsea September 2025 Start

Learning Support Assistant (SEND) Whats in it for you

Learning Support Assistant (SEND) Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with additional needs

  • Adapt learning materials and activities to meet pupils individual targets

  • Support children in developing confidence social skills and resilience

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies

  • Help create a calm inclusive classroom environment that nurtures independence

  • Contribute to childrens wellbeing by encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation

Learning Support Assistant (SEND) Person Specification

  • Previous experience supporting children (school nursery tutoring or youth work) is highly desirable

  • A patient empathetic and adaptable individual with a genuine passion for supporting young learners

  • Interest in SEN child development or pursuing a long-term career in education or psychology

  • Degree holders welcome but not essential personality resilience and enthusiasm are key
