The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention protection and preparation as well as the care custody and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody healthcare and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration Health Services Rehabilitation & Reentry Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!

Description of Work

This position of Correction Enterprise Supervisor II is responsible for training offenders in the safe proper and most efficient operation of equipment and practices utilized in a sewing manufacturing operation while ensuring quality and quantity standards in accordance with applicable laws policies and regulations.

This employee will organize and direct work assignments of offenders and set up of equipment for processing of raw materials. They will also prepare a variety of written reports involving subjects such as inventory levels equipment specifications offender incidents incentive wage payroll and production schedules.

The work environment may involve exposure to noise dust fumes dangerous machinery chemical body fluids and fallen objects. This may require the use of personal protective equipment (such as ear plugs/muff safety glasses respirators protective clothing etc. and/or personal protective equipment used in sewing operation).

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $37782 - $66120

The Knowledge Skills and Abilities/ Management Preferences are not required. Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.

Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Experience with hands-on sewing equipment & tools. (ex. Machines press snips etc.)
  • Experience in a production manufacturing environment.
  • Experience order and receiving merchandise
  • Supervisory experience with skilled & unskilled workers.

Necessary Special Qualifications
