Job Summary

A leading global alternative investment firm is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join its Data Governance & Enterprise Data team.

This is a high-impact hands-on engineering role focused on building scalable production-grade data pipelines and warehouse architecture that support finance investment and operational stakeholders across the firm.

This is not a reporting-only or policy-focused governance role. This is a true data engineering position with ownership over architecture modeling and data quality design.

What Youll Do

Design build and maintain cloud and on-prem data pipelines
Develop scalable production-grade Python-based data workflows
Write advanced SQL for transformation modeling and optimization
Design and implement dimensional data models (Kimball/star schema)
Build and optimize Snowflake (or similar cloud warehouse) environments
Implement orchestration using tools such as Airflow or dbt
Partner directly with finance and operational teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
Embed governance metadata and data quality controls into data architecture
Support business-facing SaaS platforms and BI/reporting tools (Power BI preferred)
Improve pipeline performance reliability and monitoring

What Were Looking For

Required

Professional experience in data engineering or software engineering
Strong Python for data processing and automation
Advanced SQL and deep understanding of data warehouse design
Hands-on experience with Snowflake Redshift BigQuery or similar platforms
Experience with Airflow dbt or comparable orchestration tools
Proven experience designing dimensional models (Kimball methodology preferred)
Experience building data solutions that support business stakeholders
Strong communication skills and ability to operate in cross-functional environments

Preferred

Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks
Exposure to streaming technologies (Kafka Spark Streaming Flink)
Experience working in Agile environments
Familiarity with APIs web scraping and modern data integration practices
Financial services or asset management experience
