Job Description
We are looking for a Claims Executive to join our team in London
- Development of P&I claims and FDD handling capacity and capabilities toward relevant Members with a strong focus on service and Member satisfaction.
- The role may also involve dealing with H&M (Hull & Machinery) claims
- Professional and efficient handling of P&I FDD (and H&M) claims in accordance with Gards claims handling instructions and QMS.
- Provide advice to Members on P&I and FDD (H&M) covers claims handling and loss prevention.
- Prepare reports and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Close cooperation with colleagues within claims globally and the underwriters of the Members portfolios.
- Participation in Member meetings presentations seminars and market events as well as industry discussions where appropriate.
- Mentoring and training colleagues to increase their P&I and FDD claims handling capability.
- Law degree with a masters degree in Maritime Law is preferred.
- Preferably working experience of at least three (3) years and a proven track record in handling different types of P&I and FDD claims (and H&M).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with both colleagues and clients.
- The ability to perform and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
- Motivation to learn as well as to share knowledge.
- The ability to analyse structure and organise tasks and to work independently with a solution and result-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication skills with written and spoken English being required.
Providing Claims service is central to what we do and our Claims Executives handle all types of claims related to P&I risks including people cargo property damage pollution and possibly FDD claims.
As a Claims Executive you will have a high degree of autonomy and will work closely with our Members together with a very competent claims team both in London and globally.
There is a strong focus in Gard on cross-functional and cross-team collaboration and Claims handlers will liaise with Underwriting in marketing Gards capabilities in the market.
