What will you be doing as the Volunteer Curator
The Volunteer Curator will be supporting the implementation facilitation coordination and success of the Volunteer Program at Pride Toronto collaborating with the Volunteer and Education Manager. This role with support will be focused on recruitment administration scheduling and appreciation of 400 - 1200 volunteers culminating in the successful deployment of volunteers across the 2026 Pride Toronto Footprint.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Collaborate with the Volunteer and Education Manager to effectively implement facilitate coordinate and ensure the success of Pride Torontos Volunteer Program.
- Focus on the recruitment administration scheduling and appreciation of 400 - 1200 volunteers leading to the successful deployment of volunteers for the 2026 Pride Toronto Footprint.
- Coordinate various aspects of the recruitment and marketing processes for the volunteer program.
- Actively promote volunteer opportunities and raise awareness through engaging speaking engagements.
- Oversee the administration of volunteer agreements ensuring accuracy and adherence to organizational standards.
- Provide comprehensive support to the Volunteer Manager and other staff members throughout the year.
- Maintain confidentiality organization and accuracy of volunteer databases.
- Manage the online application process and upkeep of volunteer registrations.
- Assist in coordinating monthly meetings annual training sessions recognition programs the Volunteer Appreciation Party and various social events throughout the year.
- Ensure timely completion of tasks for all volunteers maintaining a high standard of efficiency.
- Contribute to the development and facilitation of training modules and workshops.
- Oversee daily operations at the Volunteer HQ including setup and teardown activities.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a safe working environment for all volunteer teams.
- Uphold compliance with municipal provincial and federal regulations.
- Assist in the seamless delivery of the Pride produced events leading up to and including the Festival and ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Provide post-Festival support and undertake any other tasks as required to contribute to the overall success of Pride Toronto.
What are we looking for
- Familiarity with volunteering and volunteer processes.
- Strong experience with administrative tasks.
- Experience working events.
- Ability to communicate clearly work effectively with others and navigate complex challenges
- Ability to work in a fast paced high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work within a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.
- Proactive self-starter who has strong administration skills takes ownership of tasks drives them to completion and ensures high-quality timely results.
Nice to haves:
- A valid G drivers license.
- Familiarity with Pride Toronto.
- Experience working with 2SLGBTQI communities.
- Familiarity with Zone Festival or other event software G-Suite and Asana.
