Job Purpose
The Senior Marketing Manager: Brand Strategy is the strategic lead in the development and execution of a compelling differentiated and unified Nedbank brand strategy aligned with the groups strategic goals and objectives. This role requires a visionary thinker who can translate insights into integrated marketing strategies that deliver consistency relevance and impact across all customer touchpointswhile ensuring alignment with business and commercial goals. The incumbent will champion strategic clarity creative excellence and measurable outcomes that accelerate brand growth.
Job Responsibilities
Brand Strategy Development
Lead in the development of the Brand Strategy and support the creation of the Integrated Marketing Strategy and 3-year Business Plan by effectively aligning and collaborating with relevant stakeholders across the group.
Develop data-driven brand and marketing objectives and supporting KPIs to monitor and measure marketing effectiveness and commercial impact.
Lead in the development of the brand architecture frameworks and brand governance by establishing strategies and guardrails to ensure consistency across sub-brands portfolios and market segments.
Influence and provide strategic brand insights and recommendations to relevant enterprise committees enterprise marketing leadership cluster marketing leads marketing missions and agency partners to drive best practice and to identify opportunities to better leverage and drive the brand strategy.
Enhance Brand Positioning
Develop actionable strategies and recommendations to strengthen value propositions and messaging for improved brand positioning across all communication touchpoints both internally and externally.
Utilise consumer and market insights to influence strategic decisions to ensure continuous brand health improvement in driving our positioning aligned with global best practice.
Partner with marketing operations to ensure integrated campaign execution that reinforces our brand positioning and strategy.
Governance and Best Practice
Develop and implement brand and creative excellence guardrails governance policies and best practices informed by industry trends and insights.
Lead the team who will drive and manage the brand guardrails to ensure a consistent One Nedbank Brand experience across all touchpoints.
People management
Manage and mentor the brand strategy team to deliver strategic actions and commercial outcomes while fostering professional growth.
Facilitate performance management and talent development to build a high-performing future ready.
Recruit or re-skill team members to meet strategic and operational requirements.
Essential Qualification
- Advanced Diplomas / National 1st Degrees
- Advanced Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Marketing or related field.
Technical / Professional Knowledge

Minimum Experience Level
