About the OpportunityThis is a permanent part-time opportunity (working 28 hours/ week) and will be based at Parramatta Counselling and Mediation centre-Required to work Tuesday - Friday - Available to work 10am 6pm Wednesday (on occasion) We are seeking a compassionate emotionally intelligent and highly organised Intake and Administration Officer to join our dedicated team at Uniting Counselling and Mediation in Parramatta. As the first point of contact for clients you will play a critical role in supporting children families and individuals. Many of whom may be in crisis experiencing distress or navigating the impacts of family separation. This role balances trauma-informed engagement with accurate administrative processes to ensure every client feels welcomed supported and will conduct detailed intake interviews across various programs screen for safety and risk factors manage referrals and provide key information about services fees and family law principles. Working closely with administrators counsellors and mediators your ability to calmly deescalate emotion and handle sensitive conversations will be you in the roleConduct 3 intake appointments per day (approx.) each followed by case demographic details and assess presenting issues including safety and risk and manage client files record case notes and coordinate appointments and clear and supportive information about family law basics services and fees (including collection processes).Respond with empathy to clients from diverse backgrounds including CALD and LGBTQIA clients or family members to appropriate services when with general administration: reception records invoicing communication and supporting the senior admin confidentiality uphold mandatory reporting requirements and follow internal in monthly team meetings regular intake supervision and ongoing YouYou are calm under pressure with the ability to sensitively hold space for individuals sharing traumatic or emotional information all while maintaining the flow of structured intake.
