Job Summary
Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for an Assistant in Nursing Sterile set Up to join us in our Perioperative department in a permanent full-time and / or permanent part time role. Mater Hospital Springfields Perioperative Department is one department delivering care to public and private patients.
Based at our Springfield campus these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU maternity emergency and medical surgical services its set to care for over 200000 patients annually.
Salary range: $33.20 - $36.35 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15900access to many staff benefits!
What youll be doing
- Prepare and set up surgical instruments supplies and equipment in accordance with theatre protocols and preference cards
- Manage inventory of surgical instruments and consumables and notify when items need replenishment
- Data entry into a computerised supply system for stock and imprest items.
- Comply with workplace health and safety regulations and hospital policies
- Ensure all equipment is sterile and correctly arranged for the surgical team
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and infection control standards in the theatre environment
- Participating in a variety of early and late shifts Monday Friday
About you
- Previous experience as an Assistant in Nursing within CSSD or Sterile Storeroom preferred
- Knowledge of sterile procedures and infection control practices
- Computer skills essential
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude
- Current AIN certification and relevant healthcare clearances
