ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Our client is a Cairns-based company offering a full suite of painting and affiliated servicesboth commercial and residentialacross the Far North Queensland region including spots like Mission Beach Port Douglas Cairns and the Atherton Tablelands.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Estimator will be a vital contributor to business growthaccurately preparing project bids and cost estimates for commercial painting and specialty flooring jobs. Youll play a key role in securing new projects and ensuring profitability while upholding the companys high standards of craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role involves working closely with the Director to ensure the successful tendering and estimating of projects.

Use Groundplan Or bluebeam a take-off template tool to take off drawings and plans.
Support the Director/admin team in the drafting and development of estimates / quotes.
Prepare Project Handover documents and send to relevant stakeholders.
Extract product and materials specification information from bid documents and project manuals.
Research and verify any incomplete specification information such as size thickness etc. and populate all findings into the project worksheet.
Create new projects in simPRO Job Management Software.
Request and follow up quotes to Suppliers and Contractors.
Prepare and issue Purchase Orders to Suppliers.
Provide administrative support for the Director.
Provide accruate paint quanites and mark ups of each surface/colour
Check all drawing revisons and notify of changes or potental variations
Attend a weekly teams meeting
Must adhere to strict

Requirements

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Estimating Degree or related field.
At least 2 years experience in take off and project handover document preparation.
2-3 years experience in Estimating
Can read construction plans.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Experience in Groundplan or bluebeam highly regarded.- Nice to Have
Experience in simPRO highly regarded.
Painting Estimator must have Au highly regarded.
