Purpose of the position:
Coordinate projects to develop implement and support comprehensive programs for Key Populations focusing on prevention treatment and care. These initiatives include addressing human rights violations and providing psychosocial interventions for Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM).
The Project Coordinator plays a crucial role as a key member of the Project Management Team overseeing the HIV Prevention Project. This position involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities including the effective administration organization and coordination of all project activities. The Project Coordinator ensures that the projects objectivessuch as reducing HIV transmission rates and increasing community awarenessare met efficiently and effectively.
Additionally the Project Coordinator is tasked with maintaining clear communication among team members stakeholders and community partners. This includes organizing regular meetings monitoring progress against project goals and implementing necessary adjustments to keep the project on track. By ensuring that all operational processes are streamlined the Project Coordinator significantly contributes to creating a structured environment in which the project can thrive and respond dynamically to challenges. Their leadership is essential in fostering collaboration and driving the project towards its successful completion.
Minimum RequirementsEducation
- Bachelors degree from a four-year College/University or equivalent - Knowledge/Information Services Education Health Behavioural Life/Social Sciences Human Resource Management Health Economist Public Health Social Science Nursing Medicine or related field
- NIMART Certified
- Dispensing Licence
- Registration with South African Nursing Council
Advantageous
- Certificate in Project Management
- Certificate in Human Resource Management
- Advanced Diploma in Primary Health Care SANC registered
- Experience:
- 2 years experience in working with Key Populations: MSM/TG
- At least 2 years experience in Project Management
- Experience in analysing Data and summarising vast amounts of Data into Graphs
- Minimum Two (2) years progressively responsible experience in Development Program co-ordination Key Populations or related Public Health Project Management
- Technical experience in one or more of the following areas: Stakeholder Relations Technical Support Monitoring Reporting and Evaluation Internal/External Stakeholder Communications
- Job Requirements:
- Occasional overnight travel (up to 20%) by land or air if required
- Advanced knowledge of HIV/Aids and TB Management
- Own Car
- Valid Drivers license
- Intermediate personal computer skills including electronic mail record keeping routine database activity word processing spreadsheet and graphics.
- Efficient in Microsoft Office
- Willing to work overtime
