Job brief

Hayleys Agriculture Holdings Limited is seeking a seasoned and results-driven professional to lead its Heavy Machinery Business. The selected candidate will be responsible for setting the strategic direction building operations from the ground up driving sales growth managing financial performance and leading teams while ensuring full compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and capitalize on opportunities within Sri Lankas Heavy Machinery Construction and Infrastructure market.

• Develop and implement business strategies to achieve sales revenue and growth targets.

• Oversee day-to-day operations including sales service rentals and spare parts supply.

• Ensure effective warehouse management logistics coordination and inventory control.

• Drive business development customer acquisition and market expansion initiatives.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors developers and government institutions.

• Plan and execute marketing campaigns pricing strategies and promotional activities.

• Train and lead cross-functional teams setting KPIs and conducting performance evaluations.

• Prepare and manage budgets forecasts and financial reports while maximizing profitability.

• Ensure high standards of after-sales service customer satisfaction and issue resolution.

• Ensure compliance with business licences safety standards labour laws and statutory requirements.

• Manage risk assessments insurance coverage and legal obligations.

Required Skills Experience and Competencies:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering Construction Management Business Management or Marketing from a recognized university.

• MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification will be a strong advantage.

• 8 12 years of progressive experience in business development operations or leadership roles with proven exposure of at least 5 years in the heavy/construction machinery industry.

• Experience in working with dealerships rental operations or equipment supply chains will be an advantage.

• Sound technical knowledge and skills in heavy/construction machinery would be an added advantage.

• Knowledge of after-sales service operations spare parts management and maintenance.

• Strong strategic planning financial literacy (budgeting and P&L management) and decision-making skills.

• Excellent communication negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.

• Understanding of Sri Lankan business law import regulations and equipment safety standards.
