We are seeking a proactive and organised Human Resources Officer to support the day-to-day HR operations of a dynamic educational organisation. This role is ideal for an early-career HR professional looking to develop broad generalist experience in a fast-paced people-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration & Employee Support
Act as the first point of contact for staff HR-related queries.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR databases.
Prepare employment contracts confirmation letters amendments and general HR correspondence.
Support employee lifecycle processes including onboarding probation contract renewal and offboarding.
Recruitment & Onboarding
Assist with recruitment processes including job postings CV screening interview coordination and reference checks.
Coordinate onboarding and induction for new hires ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and on time.
Liaise with external recruitment agencies when required.
Payroll Leave & Benefits Coordination
Support payroll processing by preparing HR data and coordinating with finance/payroll providers.
Track staff attendance leave balances and entitlements.
Assist with employee benefits administration and staff queries.
Policy Compliance & HR Processes
Ensure HR practices align with local labour legislation and internal policies.
Assist with updating HR policies handbooks and procedures.
Support internal audits and HR reporting as required.
Engagement & Development Support
Assist with performance review cycles and documentation.
Support training and professional development initiatives.
Contribute to staff wellbeing and engagement activities.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
12 years experience in an HR People Operations or administrative role.
Basic understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices.
Experience in an education or multicultural environment is an advantage but not essential.
Skills & Attributes
Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional discreet and trustworthy when handling confidential information.
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook); HR systems experience is a plus.
Positive proactive and willing to learn.
English Cantonese speaker Mandarin a plus
