Job Title : Cluster Head – Environment Health & Safety (EHS)
Function: Environment Health & Safety
Role Purpose
The Cluster Head – EHS will handle Multi-site as Cluster Head EHS (API Manufacturing Sites) responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight of Environment Health & Safety across multiple API manufacturing sites. The role ensures full compliance with regulatory requirements drives a strong EHS culture minimizes operational risks and supports sustainable manufacturing excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. EHS Strategy & Leadership
Develop and implement cluster-level EHS strategy aligned with corporate objectives and regulatory expectations.
Act as the EHS leader for all API sites in the cluster ensuring consistent standards and practices.
Build a strong safety culture through leadership engagement communication and accountability.
2. Regulatory Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS laws and regulations including:
Factories Act
Environment Protection Act
Hazardous & Other Wastes Rules
Air & Water Acts
PESO Boiler Inspectorate Fire NOC
Local and international EHS requirements (as applicable)
Lead statutory audits regulatory inspections and interactions with authorities.
Track regulatory changes and proactively implement compliance actions.
3. Process Safety Management (PSM)
Lead PSM programs for API operations including:
Ensure safe handling storage and disposal of hazardous chemicals and solvents.
Oversee emergency preparedness and response planning across sites.
4. Environmental Management & Sustainability
Drive environmental performance including:
Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) / ZLD systems
Air emission control systems
Waste minimization and solvent recovery
Monitor and reduce environmental footprint (water energy emissions).
Lead sustainability initiatives and ESG-related EHS programs.
5. Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene
6. Audit Risk & Performance Management
Conduct internal EHS audits and support corporate / customer audits.
Define EHS KPIs dashboards and reporting mechanisms.
Track incidents near misses and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
7. Team Development & Capability Building
Lead and mentor site EHS heads and EHS teams across the cluster.
Identify capability gaps and implement structured EHS training programs.
Drive behavioral safety and competency development initiatives.
8. Stakeholder & Business Collaboration
Partner with Manufacturing Engineering Quality Projects and Supply Chain teams.
Provide EHS inputs for new projects expansions and technology transfers.
Support customer audits and due diligence related to EHS.
