Job Summary

Summary:
The Procurement Lead plays a strategic role in advancing procurement excellence within a fast-paced manufacturing environment specializing in specialty chemicals coatings and construction materials. Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end procurement for critical raw materials including resins epoxies polyurethanes solvents pigments fillers sealants bitumen fibers and specialty additives.
  • Identify assess and onboard qualified domestic and international suppliers ensuring alignment with quality sustainability and delivery benchmarks.
  • Develop and execute long-term supplier partnerships through competitive contract negotiations and value-based agreements.
  • Proactively mitigate supply risks using supplier diversification dual-sourcing strategies and comprehensive contingency planning.
  • Drive data-informed cost reduction initiatives that maintain material quality and performance standards.
  • Optimize inventory levels by aligning procurement activities with production schedules lead times and material shelf life requirements.
  • Monitor global raw material price trends and provide timely insights to support strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Ensure all incoming materials meet technical safety environmental and regulatory standards including VOC limits and hazardous chemical handling protocols.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Quality teams to define material specifications validate new materials and support product innovation.
  • Maintain compliance with import/export regulations for chemicals and sensitive materials across key markets.
  • Partner with Operations Finance Logistics and R&D teams to align procurement strategies with broader business goals.
  • Establish and manage KPIs and real-time dashboards to track supplier performance cost savings and procurement efficiency.
  • Lead strategic procurement planning sessions and deliver actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Build mentor and lead a high-performing procurement team across multiple locations in India defining roles responsibilities and performance expectations.

Requirements

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Engineering (B.E/) in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 810 years of procurement experience in the specialty chemicals coatings or construction chemicals industry.
  • Proven experience with SAP procurement modules.
  • In-depth technical understanding of resins epoxies polyurethanes pigments fillers solvents sealants and industrial coatings raw materials.
  • Demonstrated success in supplier negotiation cost optimization risk mitigation and global sourcing.
  • Track record of leading and developing cross-functional teams across multiple geographies.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to apply data-driven insights to procurement strategy and decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication negotiation and stakeholder management abilities particularly when engaging with international suppliers and senior executives.
