Last Mile Planning team within the LMT organization is at the heart of our growing logistics network at Amazon. We build all the software that creates efficient route station and capacity plans that operations uses to deliver billions of packages that Amazon customers order worldwide right up to their doorsteps. Were challenged to constantly improve and innovate on our vehicle routing/planning software and tools to better support fast delivery to customers. The technology innovations that are developed by the Last Mile Technology team scale our growing network and include a wide breadth of solutions from ML and operations research-based routing and planning algorithms our own in-house maps and navigation platform IoT and hardware innovations doorstep delivery experience and the consumer grade native mobile apps that brings all these experiences together.

The Pre Station Planning Technology team is one of the critical teams supporting and enabling Last Mile operations for Amazon Worldwide. We build software for demand forecasting capacity planning jurisdiction and topology management and fleet planning among other areas. All of these services help estimate the precise number of stations vehicles drivers and routes to deliver billions of packages to customers worldwide and have a high impact on cost as well as deliver efficiency.

We are looking for a Software Development Manager with exceptional technical skills and a passion for delivering great software to join our team. As a member of this team you will be responsible to own and deliver highly visible innovative projects that directly impact the customer experience. You will be involved in driving the technical and architectural vision for a planning team that touches every Amazon package as well as all the aspects of the software development cycle including scoping design implementation testing & delivery of our product.


- 10 years of engineering experience
- 5 years of engineering team management experience
- 10 years of planning designing developing and delivering consumer software experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs projects and development teams in an Agile environment

- Experience partnering with product and program management teams
- Experience designing and developing large scale high-traffic applications
- Experience in building software for optimizing logistics and supply chain related areas especially applying Machine Learning AI and forecasting and modeling paradigms is highly desired.
