What you can expect:

Preferred by Nature is looking for an Agriculture Specialist to manage and deliver high-quality agriculture certification and verification services in Japan and East Asia. Preferred by Nature is a registered organisation in Japan and this role plays an important part in representing our work with clients and stakeholders in the country and across the region.

As Agriculture Specialist you will conduct audits manage client portfolios and support sales and market development activities. You will work closely with clients auditors and internal teams to ensure efficient delivery high technical quality and strong client relationships. Through this work you will contribute directly to better land management responsible supply chains and positive outcomes for people nature and the climate.


Working with us is never a routine so in your first year you can expect the following areas to be central to your work.

  • Managing agriculture certification and verification services for assigned clients

  • Conducting audits reporting and quality reviews in line with PBN requirements

  • Coordinating audit planning scheduling and task management

  • Building strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders

  • Supporting sales processes proposals and client presentations

  • Contributing to agriculture market development in Japan and East Asia

Your first year with us:

Within three months you will:

  • Build a strong understanding of Preferred by Natures mission systems and agriculture services

  • Begin or complete required auditor and task manager qualifications through necessary training and exposure.

  • Support audit planning client communication and internal coordination

Within six months you will:

  • Conduct audits and task management independently within your qualifications

  • Deliver timely high-quality audit reports and contribute to quality reviews

  • Support service proposals and engage with potential and existing clients

Within twelve months you will:

  • Fully manage a stable client portfolio with high quality and client satisfaction

  • Act as a trusted point of contact for key clients in Japan

  • Contribute insights to improve processes and support strategic growth of agriculture services

Important that you:

  • Hold a bachelors degree in agriculture life sciences environmental science or a related field.

  • Desirable to have 3 years of experience in related agricultural or supply chain fields.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Japanese and English

  • Experience using digital tools in your work (word processing spreadsheet and presentations)

  • Are willing and able to travel within and out of the country.

Would also be great but not necessary if you:

  • Have experience with multiple agriculture schemes such as Rainforest Alliance Global G.A.P. RSPO FSC Organic UEBT SRP or Preferred by Nature Certification.

  • Bring experience in sales support or market development within sustainability services
