Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of Operations Expeditor is to help coordinate moving the product through the manufacturing and production operations. The position will work closely with the scheduling/planning and supply chain groups.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Track and facilitate the closure of work orders in a timely manner.
  2. Collaborate with different groups to address material and part shortages effectively.
  3. Ensure the seamless movement of products through each operation.
  4. Track labor hours versus estimated hours to optimize productivity.
  5. Coordinate the movement and pulling of parts required for operations.
  6. Work closely with Engineering and Production on add/deletes and Red Sheets.
  7. Facilitate the efficient movement of parts through QA minimizing idle time for inspection or rework.
  8. Monitor outside service reports and track parts to meet deadlines.
  9. Efficiently return to stock parts that are not needed (RTS).
  10. Prepare supply sheets for various groups within the organization.
  11. Serve as a liaison with the Shipping department to provide status updates on shipments.
  12. Attend production meetings as required actively participating in discussions.
  13. Prepare reports and collect data as needed to support decision-making.
  14. Assist Inventory with accurate material counts to verify quantities.
  15. Support Purchasing by addressing Open Order Reports and Material Short Sheets.
  16. Assist with supplier risk assessment on critical and unique parts monitoring supplier performance (delivery quality cost).
  17. Collaborate with engineering to identify preliminary critical parts long-lead parts and inspection requirements.
  18. Actively mediate and partner with quality and engineering teams to resolve supplier quality issues for assigned product groups.
  19. Contribute to team effort by achieving results. Work cooperatively with team members communicate design constraints and work within the team to achieve solutions.
  20. Able to work in various positions such as climbing balancing stooping kneeling crouching laying reaching with hands and arms grasp handle and operate hand and tools as well as welding equipment.
  21. Responsible for other duties and tasks as assigned and in some circumstances may be completely unrelated to this position.
  • One or more years experience using the Global Shop ERP system or like system.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills.
  • Ability to multitask and efficiently prioritize work.
  • Proficiency in computer skills including experience with various software applications.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and project management abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND EMPLOYEE EXPECTATIONS
