Director of Outpatient

The Director of Outpatient Opportunity:

The Director of Outpatient Services provides strategic and operational leadership for NCHCs Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinics across Marathon Lincoln and Langlade Counties. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality person-centered mental health substance use disorder psychiatry and patient access services. The Director oversees multidisciplinary clinical teams facilitates compliance with DHS and Joint Commission standards collaborates with internal and external partners and supports financial sustainability of all outpatient programs. The position also plays a key leadership role in the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Psychiatry Residency partnership and medical staff relations activities.

Compensation and Benefits:

• The starting pay range for this role is $109491-$121664 based on education and experience.

What Qualifies You:

Required:

• Masters degree in Healthcare Administration or a closely related field.
• More than 2 years of demonstrated relevant experience.
• At least 1 year of leadership experience.
• Valid Wisconsin drivers license and personal vehicle.

Preferred:

• Previous experience in leadership (healthcare leadership preferred).
• Previous experience in Outpatient Services.

What a Director of Outpatient does at NCHC:

Operations

• Provides daily oversight for Outpatient Mental Health Psychiatry Substance Use Disorder Services and Outpatient Nursing with responsibilities for client satisfaction employee engagement and operational outcomes.
• Supports completion of annual budgets manages expenses and revenue to ensure that program meets budgeted targets.
• Develops and manages productivity and fiscal targets evaluates programs for potential cost-effective change and manages the implementation of those changes
• Ensures compliance with relevant federal state and regulatory/accreditation regulations.
• Maintains regular on-site attendance

Quality and Compliance

• Ensures care delivery system meets regulatory requirements including Department of Health Services and The Joint Commission.
• Develops standards of treatment to ensure standards of care are met in conjunction with clinical leadership.
• Addresses any deficiencies identified through continuous improvement analysis with appropriate plan of correction or other problem-solving actions.
• Coordinates and delegates quality improvement projects and compliance monitoring for the clinics operations.
• Facilitates the design and implementation of clinical experiences for graduate medical learners.
• Responsible for support of the Medical Staff Committees peer review processes and medical bylaws.
• Connects directly with clients/patients as needed to resolve grievances/complaints.
• Oversees compliance documentation auditing to ensure completion and follow up with clinicians and prescribers as needed.

Partnerships

• Provides outreach education and coordination of care with other NCHC departments such as inpatient hospital and community treatment.
• Collaborates with the Medical College of Wisconsin on onboarding orientation scheduling clinical rotations and service delivery.
• Develops and maintains relationships with community partners and key stakeholders to maximize collaboration.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Directly supervises or provides guidance to psychiatrists psychiatric nurse practitioners therapists outpatient operations specialist and nursing operations manager.

• Assign and evaluate work review performance and manage staff development in collaboration with HR.
• Coach and mentor employees in a constructive encouraging manner.
• Manage employee performance partnering with HR when needed.
• Participate in hiring onboarding training and retention process for the Outpatient Services area.
