Position Overview
The School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides speech and language therapy services to middle and high school students. The SLP supports students with communication needs through assessment intervention and collaboration with educational teams ensuring services align with individualized education plans (IEPs) and applicable state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct speech and language therapy services to middle and high school students
Conduct speech language and communication evaluations
Develop implement and update individualized treatment plans and IEP goals
Deliver services to students with diverse communication needs including those requiring American Sign Language (ASL)
Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams
Document evaluations progress notes and service delivery in accordance with school and state guidelines
Collaborate with teachers staff and families to support student communication goals
Monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed
Maintain compliance with educational ethical and licensure standards
Qualifications
Active Texas Speech-Language Pathologist license (required)
Clinical Fellows (CFs) accepted
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required
Experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
Strong communication documentation and collaboration skills
