Job Summary

Job Title: Sexual Assault and Harassment Prevention and Response (SAHPR) Program Administrative Assistant Project Summary

The SAHPR Program Administrative Assistant will support the National Science Foundations (NSF) Sexual Assault and Harassment Prevention and Response (SAHPR) Program within the Office of Legislative and Public Affairs (OLPA). This role provides specialized administrative writing research and editorial support for sensitive policy-driven communications and documentation in a research-focused federal environment. The position supports the development maintenance and communication of SAHPR policies and guidance that reflect NSF leadership priorities regulatory requirements and evidence-based practices.

This position supports a federal government contract and requires professionalism discretion and adherence to federal writing accessibility and policy standards.

Role Summary

Provides specialized administrative writing and editorial support for NSFs SAHPR program supporting sensitive policy-driven communications and documentation in a research-oriented federal environment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support the development review modification and maintenance of new and existing Sexual Assault and Harassment Prevention and Response (SAHPR) regulatory policies procedures and guidelines.
  • Support the development of SAHPR-related policies guidance standard operating procedures and FAQs to ensure materials are clear consistent and accessible to employees and stakeholders.
  • Write and edit high-quality products that effectively explain and interpret the Agencys stance on sexual violence issues ensuring accuracy clarity conciseness and adherence to the NSF Style Guide.
  • Conduct editorial reviews for grammar style consistency and clarity of presentation considering intended audiences policy implications and compliance with Agency and NSF Office of the Director (OD) practices and policies.
  • Assist in preparing and editing products for a variety of audiences to explain and interpret complex SAHPR policies programs and functions.
  • Perform research and analysis to inform the development or revision of policies procedures guidelines and informational materials including technical writing and editing assignments that require synthesis of complex or sensitive information.
  • Ensure written products comply with the Plain Writing Act of 2010 and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Five (5) or more years of administrative policy support or technical writing experience.
  • Strong research writing and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated experience handling sensitive subject matter with professionalism discretion and sound judgment.
Preferred Strengths
  • Experience supporting compliance policy or regulatory programs.
  • Familiarity working with research-based or evidence-driven policy materials.
  • Experience working in federal academic or research environments.
Work Location and Schedule
  • Place of Performance: Primarily on-site at NSF Headquarters in Alexandria VA.
  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
  • Telework may be available with prior approval from the Contracting Officers Representative (COR).
Security Requirement
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
