The Operations Manager is accountable for leading end-to-end warehouse and logistics operations to deliver consistent service performance operational efficiency and financial discipline. This role provides strong on-site leadership partners closely with customers and internal stakeholders and embeds structured data-driven operating practices to support productivity cost optimisation and continuous improvement. The position plays a critical role in building a high-performing operations team while ensuring safety compliance and service excellence.
The Challenges
- Lead and manage warehouse and logistics operations to consistently achieve defined key performance indicators and service standards.
- Own operational performance across cost quality service safety and productivity using data and metrics to drive informed decision-making.
- Monitor and manage operational profit and loss establish effective business controls and identify opportunities to reduce cost and enhance revenue.
- Define roles responsibilities and workforce plans aligned with current and future operational requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives including process optimisation productivity enhancement and Lean warehousing practices.
- Ensure efficient inventory management material flow and physical distribution across inbound storage and outbound activities.
- Partner closely with customers and internal teams to ensure operational alignment service delivery and strong working relationships.
- Lead the implementation of operational strategies systems and logistics technologies to meet evolving business and customer needs.
- Champion a safe working environment by enforcing safety standards policies and best practices across the operation.
- Build organisational capability through structured training coaching performance management and talent development.
- Ensure compliance with company policies procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Foster a culture of accountability continuous improvement and operational excellence across the site.
What It Takes
- Degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of eight years experience in logistics or warehouse operations management with end-to-end operational accountability.
- Strong technical understanding of warehousing inventory management transportation and logistics execution systems.
- Demonstrated experience managing operational financials including cost control and productivity improvement.
- Proven leadership capability with experience leading developing and motivating operational teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate operational data into practical actions and improvements.
- Excellent stakeholder and customer management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
- Experience driving continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or similar operational excellence frameworks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to reprioritise effectively to meet changing operational demands.
- High standards of integrity resilience and accountability with the ability to lead under pressure.
