About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established and growing organisation operating within the logistics shipping freight forwarding and warehousing sectors. With a strong regional presence and ambitious growth plans the business is focused on expanding its customer base strengthening key accounts and increasing revenue across commercial services.

They are now seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business acquisition manage strategic client relationships and support sustained commercial growth. The Business Development Manager is responsible for growing their products and services revenue streams by achieving set sales targets and building and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients ensuring visibility and delivery of high-quality customer service to existing and potential clients. The successful candidate will develop business plans and strategies to achieve sales customer experience and profitability goals. They will identify business opportunities and prospects by evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analysing sales options selling products by establishing contacts and developing relationships with prospects and recommending solutions. The Business Development Manager maintains relationships with partners and clients by providing support information and guidance researching and recommending new opportunities and recommending profit and service improvements. This role requires being at their offices 5 days a week.

  3. Please briefly walk us through how you typically identify qualify and convert new B2B clients in the logistics or freight sector (we are particularly interested in your approach to/or any examples of pipeline development stakeholder engagement and closing complex deals).
  4. What types of logistics or freight solutions have you sold and to which customer segments (e.g. freight forwarding customs clearance warehousing last-mile delivery cross-border logistics enterprise vs SME clients).
  5. Please confirm:
    -Your required monthly compensation in USD.
    -You are available to start immediately if selected.
    -Your right to work in Kenya without restriction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify profile and convert new B2B sales opportunities within assigned territories.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with revenue and growth targets.
  • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with clients and partners.
  • Manage the whole end-to-end sales process including proposals negotiations contracting and handover.
  • Conduct market research and gather commercial intelligence to identify new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Attend industry events meetings and networking opportunities to raise brand visibility.
  • Monitor performance against targets and provide regular sales and pipeline reporting.
  • Act as a trusted commercial advisor to clients identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities.


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in B2B business development or sales ideally within logistics freight shipping or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and closing skills.
  • Confident relationship-builder comfortable engaging senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working in or with East African markets particularly Uganda is highly desirable.
  • Highly organised self-motivated and results-driven.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and standard business tools (e.g. Excel PowerPoint).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
