Job Summary

About the role

The EIS Case Manager will provide initial screening and assessment and develop with families their family case plan. They will identify barriers and provide practical in-home support for carers oversee case management activity provide parenting and trauma information for carers and specific supports for children to strengthen links to community and culture.

The EIS Case Manager will coordinate with and provide information to the coordinator for them to report to the Department of Communities and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders relevant to the program maintain a child-focussed family centred approach and recognise the trauma that children and their extended families are likely to have experienced be respectful and inclusive of Aboriginal culture through the informing of engagement strategies assessment and planning use family cultural mapping and genograms as an engagement strategy in addition to being used as a safety and case planning tool and for building extended networks for families and provide ongoing liaison with the Department Case Manager and other service providers involved in supporting the family members through the regular review and report process


This is a Full-Time opportunity based in Port Hedland WA within our Intensive Family Support Services Program. The position reports to the Coordinator Pilbara Services.


Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role the incumbent will have:

  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children young people and their families.
  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children young people and their families.
  • An appropriate qualification in human services and/or equivalent experience and skills. A combination of equivalent study and experience including Aboriginal people with lived and professional experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability in working as part of a team.
  • Experience in Case Management.
  • Knowledge of traumatised and vulnerable children young people and families.
