Our client is seeking an experienced Divisional Head: Finance to provide strategic financial leadership across multiple operations and countries. The role is responsible for ensuring financial sustainability strong governance and operational efficiency while partnering closely with divisional leadership to drive performance manage risk and support long-term growth across the regional portfolio.
Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic financial leadership for the division across multiple operations and/or countries by defining executing and continuously refining the divisional financial strategy in alignment with overall organisational objectives and growth plans.

Act as a trusted business partner to divisional and operational leadership by delivering high-quality financial insights analysis and recommendations that support strategic decision-making operational efficiency and long-term value creation.

Oversee the preparation of accurate timely and compliant financial reporting across all operations including management accounts operational dashboards budgets forecasts and consolidated divisional financial statements.

Lead the budgeting forecasting and performance management processes across regions ensuring financial targets are realistic aligned to strategy and consistently monitored against actual performance.

Review and approve operational and capital expenditure including the evaluation of capital investment proposals discounted cash flow models and detailed business cases to ensure optimal capital allocation.

Ensure full compliance with IFRS local accounting standards tax legislation statutory reporting requirements and regulatory frameworks across multiple African jurisdictions.

Implement and maintain robust internal controls governance frameworks and risk management practices to safeguard assets ensure financial integrity and reduce exposure to fraud error and misstatement.

Manage liquidity cash flow and working capital across all operations by optimising receivables payables inventory and cash balances to support operational stability and growth.

Identify assess and mitigate financial risks related to currency exposure commodity price volatility macroeconomic trends and geopolitical factors impacting divisional performance.

Drive financial oversight of strategic projects including expansions new market entries and major capital initiatives ensuring sound financial planning governance and risk assessment.

Lead the implementation and harmonisation of financial systems ERP platforms and digital tools across regions to improve data accuracy reporting efficiency and decision-making capabilities.

Lead mentor and develop a geographically dispersed finance team by setting clear expectations promoting accountability and fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Represent the finance function in engagements with external stakeholders such as auditors banks regulators investors and joint venture partners ensuring strong relationships and effective communication.
Qualifications
-
Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or a related field at NQF Level 8 or higher.

Professional qualification such as CA (SA) or CIMA is strongly preferred.

A minimum of 7 12 years of progressive financial experience including at least 5 7 years in senior financial management roles within multi-country or complex operational environments.

Proven experience within sectors such as Agriculture Mining Logistics or similar industries with geographically dispersed and operationally intensive businesses.

Demonstrated experience leading finance teams across multiple countries managing audits and implementing strong financial controls.

In-depth knowledge of IFRS local accounting standards taxation and regulatory requirements across African jurisdictions.
