Job Summary
The Spare Parts Manager is responsible for planning procurement storage inventory control and distribution of automobile spare parts. The role ensures optimal stock availability cost control and timely supply of genuine parts to service centers workshops and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end spare parts operations including procurement storage and distribution
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid stock-outs or excess inventory
- Forecast spare parts demand based on vehicle population service history and sales trends
- Coordinate with OEMs suppliers and vendors for timely procurement
- Ensure proper warehousing binning labeling and FIFO/FEFO practices
- Monitor slow-moving non-moving and obsolete (SLOB) inventory
- Control inventory costs reduce wastage and improve turnover ratio
- Ensure availability of fast-moving and critical parts for service operations
- Supervise warehouse staff and parts executives
- Implement and maintain ERP/DMS systems (SAP Oracle Dealer Management Systems)
- Handle warranty parts returns and claims with OEMs
- Ensure compliance with company policies safety norms and audit requirements
- Prepare MIS reports on stock status consumption and procurement
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of automobile spare parts (2W/3W/Passenger/Commercial vehicles)
- Inventory management & demand forecasting
- Vendor management and negotiation skills
- ERP / DMS proficiency (SAP MM preferred)
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team leadership and coordination
- Cost control and process improvement
- Good communication and documentation skills
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering or Graduate in any discipline
Diploma in Automobile / Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
Certification in Inventory / Supply Chain Management is an advantage
Experience Required
5–10 years of experience in automobile spare parts management
Experience in dealership OEM warehouse or service center operations
