Job Summary

Position Summary

The Coordinator Campus Living supports the delivery of community engagement student support and programming activities within UFV student housing. Working under the direction of the Manager Campus Living the role assists in implementing approved community-building initiatives housing orientation activities student engagement programs and student support processes that contribute to a safe inclusive and student-ready housing environment.

The Coordinator provides day-to-day guidance to Community Assistants (CAs) related to programming logistics community presence documentation practices and service expectations. The role responds to routine student concerns refers more complex issues to appropriate departments and supports the Manager with operational tasks communications and coordination with campus partners.

This position focuses on program delivery and community support rather than the leadership of conduct crisis management curriculum development or strategic planning functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a related field (education social sciences humanities or equivalent combination of education and experience) from a recognized post secondary institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in student housing residence life student services or community-based work involving youth or young adults.
  • Experience supporting student programming and community engagement activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple program activities and guide student staff.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and intercultural skills with the ability to build positive relationships with diverse student populations.
  • Ability to follow established processes exercise sound judgement in routine situations and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Proficiency with standard office software; familiarity with housing or student life systems (e.g. StarRez) is an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends and to share in an after-hours on-call schedule.
  • Certifications in First Aid CPR or mental-health-related training are assets or must be obtained after hire.
