Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking to hire a Survey Assistant for Rail & System project. The Survey Assistantperforms survey work as part of a field survey crew including assisting surveyor with setup survey instrument measuring in the field & maintaining equipment and cleaning up work site and vehicles.
Your role
- Regulate work to ensure all site safety standards acceptable practices & guidelines are adhered to and communicate any safety issues regardless of the severity to Surveyor.
- Assist Surveyor in Operations of various survey-engineering instruments devices to measure distances and collect data.
- Assist in establishes lines critical points and angles; digs ground using a shovel and other hand tools to search for and locate survey monuments and points. Sets Cleans and Paints all points used for survey purposes.
- Maintains field notes regarding backsight and foresight heights for each setup.
- Obtains permits and safety equipment as required.
- Organize all materials and equipment. Restock vehicle with supplies as required and Clean work vehicle including emptying trash from work vehicle.
- Refueling vehicles as required to not interfere with field work.
- Working Conditions:
- Working mostly outdoors in the elements including inclement weather conditions.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Working within tight deadlines.
- Long Hours.
About you
- Any experience in Construction surveying industry would be considered an asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Drivers license (Class G).

Additional information
Expected compensation for this role is between $47000 - $64700 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
