Job Summary

Paralegal Assistant

Take part in strategic corporate matters within an international law firm. Collaborative environment. Direct support to paralegals. Proficiency in both French and English required. Direct exposure to complex commercial transactions.

Permanent full-time position (35 hours/week 5 days).

Responsibilities:

Assist paralegals in preparing legal documents related to corporate files.
File documents with federal and provincial government authorities.
Update electronic and physical corporate minute books and records.
Conduct searches in various government databases.
Enter corporate data into the legal entity management system.
Contribute to special projects and provide general administrative support.
Manage correspondence phone calls printing filing and invoice processing.
Communicate with third-party agents regarding billing and payment follow-ups.

What you will need to succeed:

Attestation of College Studies (ACS) in legal secretarial studies or a Diploma of College Studies (DCS) in office administration.
Diploma of College Studies (DCS) in legal techniques and/or a certificate in law considered an asset.
1 year of relevant experience in a similar role.
Professional proficiency in both French and English in order to:
Prepare documents and correspondence in both languages based on client needs.
Communicate effectively with English- and French-speaking stakeholders in Quebec and elsewhere.
Ensure accurate handling of files involving varied linguistic requirements.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Acrobat Pro.
High level of attention to detail organization and accuracy.
Ability to manage priorities and work under tight deadlines.
Team-oriented mindset and professionalism.
