Scientific Officer ()
Responsibilities:
Specialising in Molecular Biology and Animal Physiology the appointee will be responsible for:
- Assisting in teaching and conducting demonstrations during practical classes;
- Providing technical support to academic staff;
- Supervising laboratory activities to ensure safety and compliance;
- Maintaining and operating a range of instruments including live-cell imaging system real-time PCR machine flow cytometer spectrophotometer and spectrofluorometer; and
- Performing administrative duties as required.
Requirements:
- At least a bachelors degree in biology or molecular science; and
- Practical experience in operating the above instruments will be considered an advantage.
The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
