Job Summary
Role OverviewThe Group Manager Dangerous Cargo is responsible for leading managing and overseeing all operations related to Dangerous Goods Declaration handling including storage transportation and compliance of dangerous goods. This role ensures full adherence to international and local regulations promotes a strong safety culture and drives operational excellence across multiple ResponsibilitiesOversee end-to-end operations for dangerous cargo ensuring full compliance with IMDG IATA ADR and other regulatory and manage teams responsible for DG documentation packaging labeling and safe and monitor safety protocols risk assessments and emergency response with regulatory authorities Partner shipping lines and internal proper training certification and competency development for DG continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency accuracy and and approve DG documentation incident reports and compliance customer relationships and address queries related to dangerous goods operational performance metrics and prepare periodic reports for senior incident investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions where should haveStrong leadership excellent written and verbal communication in English ability to handle stressful situations in Dangerous Goods incident handling and decision-making skills. Shoulddemonstrated ability to manage compliance risk and operational excellence. Good Stakeholder & people management. Should possess excellent Problem-solving & analytical skills
Qualifications :
The candidate will need to know:The IMDG Code ideally be 49 CFR certifiedHave a Masters or at least a Bachelors degree in a field such as Chemistry or environmental scienceOR at least 4 years of direct experience handling and approving hazardous cargo.
