Job Summary

The role

Vanguards Global Public Policy (GPP) function is responsible for managing Vanguards policymaker relationships and driving our investor-focused policy agenda through advocacy policy expertise research and thought leadership and data and analysis.

This position on GPPs Global Policy Development Operations and Reporting team will coordinate with GPP colleagues and business partners on strategy development and reporting on international policy matters (working very closely with the International Head of Public Policy & Advocacy).

In this role you will be a key player for Vanguard by

  • Leading multiple projects or major workstreams ensuring structured planning execution and monitoring of deliverables within defined scope and timelines

  • Coordinating policy process engaging subject matter experts to establish a working team approach and communication plan

  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders effectively communicating key policy updates resolving roadblocks and guiding decision-making

  • Tracking key metrics preparing detailed reports and providing leadership with data-driven insights for informed decision-making

  • Providing expert recommendations on critical enterprise policy challenges ensuring timely attention of escalated policy issues

  • Review and validate data documents and reports for completeness and precision

  • Working with primary trade association partners to understand their approach and position on areas of focus

  • Partnering with subject matter experts across Vanguard to assess impacts of potential policy and regulatory actions

  • Developing content and collateral for meetings with policymakers

  • Preparing policy materials for Vanguard senior leadership and Board use and ensure all outputs represent best and final work ready for executive and stakeholder review

What it takes

  • Be able to demonstrate your commitment and alignment to Vanguards mission of taking a stand for all investors treating them fairly and giving them the best chance of investment success

  • Have an undergraduate degree or equivalent experience with proven experience in project management stakeholder engagement and process optimization. Public policy expertise is not required

  • Show a proven ability to work independently as a self-starter taking initiative to identify and solve problems

  • Show advanced skill in using project management and reporting tools

  • Be an exceptional communicator and relationship builder adept at aligning key stakeholders and leading cross-functional initiatives with executive presence

  • Be comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving complex problems with clear analysis and actionable solutions

  • Show a proven ability to implement strategy and drive business outcomes through fast-paced high-impact workstreams with a focus on prioritization
