JOB DESCRIPTION – STEEL SALES REPRESENTATIVE (Fixed-Term Contract)

1. Job Overview
As part of the expansion of its steel product sales activities our client is seeking an experienced Steel Sales Representative.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing managing and building loyalty within a client portfolio across the construction industrial metal fabrication and specialized distributor sectors.
The ideal candidate has a perfect command of the steel products available on the local market as well as the needs of professional clients.
2. Main Responsibilities
A. Business Development
Prospect for new clients: construction companies metal fabrication workshops hardware stores industrial companies.
Identify and qualify sales opportunities.
Promote the various steel product ranges offered by the company: reinforcing bars sheets beams tubes profiles bars etc.
B. Client Management and Follow-up
Manage a portfolio of existing clients and maintain long-term relationships.
Provide technical advice tailored to client needs (dimensions strength applications).
Prepare quotes track orders and ensure customer satisfaction.
C. Negotiation & Objectives
Negotiate prices sales terms and delivery deadlines.
Achieve the monthly and annual sales targets set by Management.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities.
D. Internal Coordination & Reporting
Collaborate closely with logistics warehouse and accounting teams to ensure operational smoothness.
Perform regular reporting: client visits forecasts achieved sales identified needs.
Represent the company at B2B events trade shows or professional meetings.
3. Required Profile
Experience
Mandatory 3 to 5 years of experience in steel product or construction material sales in Cameroon.
Good understanding of the local market: pricing standards competition user sectors.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Sales Marketing Business Management or equivalent.
Technical Skills
Mastery of sales and negotiation techniques.
Strong technical knowledge of steel products (measurements steel types strength standards).
Ability to analyze clients' technical needs and propose adequate solutions.
Proficiency in IT tools: Excel WhatsApp Business quoting software (if applicable).
