Job Summary

The iconic Hotel del Coronadois looking for a Culinary Coordinator to join the team! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation and expansion the resort is more stunning than ever.

Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms cottages and villas with 65000 square feet of banquet space and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants 2 bars a food truck marketplace ice cream shop and in-room dining.

Classification: Full-Time

Shift: Various must be available to weekdays weekends and holidays.

Pay Rate:The pay rate for this role is $23-$25/hour and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.

What will I be doing

As a Culinary Coordinator you will coordinate and implement department activities and projects as assigned. Provide administrative support to the department. Specifically you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Coordinate projects and activities. This may involve attending meetings taking notes and acting upon assigned duties to coordinate the assigned project.
  • Maintain communication with departments
  • Assist with internal and external guests
  • Compose correspondence on behalf of department
  • Maintains detailed filing system
  • Coordinates the recruiting process
  • Prepares paperwork for onboarding vacation sick leave changes and terminations
  • Payroll review and corrections for the department
  • Assist Chef with BEO meetings
  • Scheduling and posting schedules
  • Translates Spanish
  • Organize recipe books
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to multitask and attention to detail.

  • Prior experience using Microsoft Office products
  • Speaks Spanish fluently
  • 1 year prior administrative experience
