Position Purpose

Responsible for generating new business managing existing customer accounts and promoting the companys custom metal fabrication capabilities. This role requires strong technical understanding of metal fabrication processes and the ability to translate customer needs into manufacturable solutions. The representative will work closely with engineering estimating and production teams to deliver accurate quotes and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project life cycle.

Key Position Responsibilities:

Business Development & Account Management

  • Identify pursue and secure new business opportunities within assigned territories or industries.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers ensuring repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Conduct regular site visits presentations and product capability demonstrations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Technical Consultation

  • Collaborate with engineering and estimating teams to develop accurate quotes lead times and project proposals.
  • Provide customers with metal fabrication insights design-for-manufacturing recommendations and material selection guidance.

Quoting & Project Coordination

  • Prepare and deliver formal pricing proposals and quotations.
  • Follow up on quotes to close deals while maintaining margin targets.
  • Coordinate internally with production teams to ensure on-time delivery and meet customer expectations.

Sales Pipeline Management

  • Maintain CRM records of opportunities forecasts interactions and project status.
  • Track sales targets project timelines and follow-up activities.
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance and market trends.

Market & Industry Insight

  • Stay informed about industry developments competitors market pricing and customer needs.
  • Attend trade shows industry events and networking activities to promote the company.

Summary of Skills Knowledge and Abilities

Proven experience in sales within metal fabrication manufacturing machining welding or industrial services.

Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes (e.g. welding laser cutting forming machining powder coating).

Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret technical specifications.

Excellent communication negotiation and relationship-building skills.

Self-motivated goal-oriented and able to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.

Background in mechanical manufacturing or industrial technology.

Experience working with ERP/CRM systems.

Knowledge of various metals tolerances and fabrication standards.
