The Opportunity

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Enfield is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and thrive in a structured nurturing environment.

You will be supporting pupils across EYFS and Key Stage 1 working with children who have Autism communication and interaction needs SEMH challenges and learning difficulties. The role includes a combination of 1:1 support small group work and in-class assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEN to access learning and classroom activities

  • Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies

  • Promote communication confidence and independence

  • Support differentiated learning activities

  • Implement strategies from EHCPs and support plans

  • Support pupils during transitions and unstructured times

  • Monitor and record pupil progress and engagement

  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

Person Specification

  • Experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable

  • Patient empathetic and emotionally resilient

  • Confident supporting pupils with additional behavioural needs

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to individual pupil needs

This role is suitable for experienced SEN TAs as well as those looking to develop their SEN experience.
