Job Overview:
THIS IS A TEMPORARY SUMMER-ONLY POSITION.
The Staff Assistant I is responsible for providing excellent customer service and information to clients visitors volunteers and the general public on the phone and in the office; acts as a liaison between clients and on-site staff; assists with general intake information; notifies on-site staff of visitors with scheduled appointments as well as walk-in inquiries. Check in patrons electronically via our membership system (PM). Lead executeand foster a welcoming environment.
Responsibilities:
- Answers and follows through with phone calls.
- Data entry of generalintake information and assists with general office work as needed.
- Prompt opening and closing of the reception area including doors phones and the computer system.
- Maintains the reception lobby and other related public areas in a clean and orderly manner including displays of brochures andpamphlets.
- Complies with training and cross-training requirements.
- Ability to identify potentially undesirable or harmful conditions developing and take action to defuse them.
- Works in compliance with the centers confidentiality guidelines and procedures.
- Employs a welcoming respectful and responsive manner at all times.
- Performs related work as required.
Minimum Entrance Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of experience in administrative work required.
- Appropriate educationmay be substitutedfor the required experience on a prorated basis.
- Working knowledge of computers; Word Excel.
- Ability to type 30 wpm.
- Good verbal and written skills preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural multi-ethnic work environment.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
