Details:
- Full-time coverage needed
- 36-40 hours per week plus weekend call coverage
- Monday-Friday 3 12-hour shifts per week 6:00a-6:00p
- 1:5 rotating call coverage
- Coverage need is for OR and call coverage however some ICU coverage will be needed
- Cases include CABG valve repair and replacement minimally invasive and robotic heart transplantation mechanical circulatory support devices and aortic aneurysm repair
- EVH utilizing Marquet
- EMR: Cerner
- Credentialing: 60-120 days
Responsibilities (Generalized):
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
- Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
- Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and NP specialty
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
Skills:
- Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
- Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions
- Time management skills to manage a patient workload efficiently
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team
Requirements
Education:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g. family practice adult-gerontology pediatrics)
- Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
Licenses & Certifications:
- Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Pennsylvania
- National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g. American Academy of Nurse Practitioners AANP)
- Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Pennsylvania
- National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Experience:
- While specific requirements may vary most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
