Summary:
This role is responsible for managing patient billing to liable third parties such as Medicare Medicaid and private health insurance for the Human Services Center. Key duties include preparing and submitting claims reconciling payments resolving denials and maintaining accurate accounts receivable records. The position also processes payments for outside medical services assists with financial reporting and supports the Finance Manager in improving office procedures. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- knowledge of CPT and ICD coding standards (certification as a coder preferred but not required);
- experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems;
- guidelines for submitting claims to Medicare Medicaid and private health insurance.
Knowledge of:
- Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rules and regulations;
- experience with filing claims;
- familiarity with applicable state and federal laws.
Skill to:
- navigate computer systems and applications efficiently;
- utilize test environments to process transactions and validate functionality in new or updated programs.
Ability to:
- exercise independent judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions;
- analyze and solve problems effectively;
- communicate information clearly and professionally;
- establish and maintain positive working relationships with providers department officials and the public.
This position is eligible for Veterans Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
