About The Role
Week-1 Mon Tues & Wednesday
Week-2 Tues Wed Thurs Friday (Maternity Cover-1 year fixed term contract)
We are seeking enthusiastic and self-driven individual to join the Aegis Shawford team as a Therapy Assistant for 7 shifts per fortnight.
Location
Aegis Shawford Lodge offers a broad range of accommodation and lifestyle options for 101 residents in three areas. Aegis Shawford is located on a quiet street close to the Innaloo Westfield Shopping Centre and IKEA and is easily accessed from the Freeway.
As an integral part of the team you will:
- Provide mobility and exercise programs to our Residents under the direction and supervision of the Physiotherapist.
- Provide recreational and other Therapeutic activity programs to our Residents under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
- Participate in the organisation and planning of Therapy programs.
- Deliver a range of Therapy-based activity programs as directed.
- Complete accurate documentation in line with relevant guidelines.
- Accompany Resident groups on outings.

Requirements of the role
- Hold a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or higher/equivalent.
- A Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent/higher or experience (Desirable but not essential).
- Have experience in a similar role preferred (Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapist Assistant).
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coach staff to deliver quality lifestyle and therapy activities.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Have empathy with the elderly.
- Have full Australian working rights and able to pass a national police clearance.
