Facilities Team

The Facilities team is a small team who responds to the daily requests to keep the spaces we work and teach in functioning optimally. We also have a regular cycle of tasks that we complete to keep the space looking fabulous andare wellpresented. This role allows us to support these functions during keyperiods suchas mid and end semester when we need to service a lot of areas ina short periodof time. It also lets ustackle projectsthat come semiregularly andmakes sure we have a facilities presence when existing team members are on leave. We look forward to sharing the running knowledge of our organisation with the rightpractically mindedcandidate.

About the role

TheFacilitiesAssistant reporting to the Facilities Executive you will provide on-site facilities support on a casual basisassistingwith general maintenance event support and responding to facilities requests across classrooms and shared spaces.

Key responsibilities

  • Assistwith furniture relocations and set-ups within the building

  • Support basic plant maintenance activities

  • Distribute stationery and office supplies

  • Conduct visual inspections of reported facilities issues

  • Assistwith internal events and room set-ups

  • Support the Facilities Officer with tasksimpactingmultiple classrooms

  • Carry out non-standard cleaning tasks beyond contracted services including:

  • Whiteboards

  • Spot carpet and furniture steaming

  • Desk and fridge cleaning

  • Monitor and respond to Facilities ServiceNow requests

About You

You will bring a practical mindset and a strong customer service focus with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Essential:

  • Clearverbal communication skills

  • Ability tosolve problemsand implement solutions for basic facilities tasks

  • Understanding of workplace health and safetyregulations

  • Strong customer service skills and self-motivation even when completing repetitive tasks

  • Comfortable interacting with students and staff across various areas

  • Ability to build positive working relationships at all levels

  • Reliable proactive and flexible approach to work
