DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGY
The Department of Biology is an academic unit under the Faculty of Science at The Hong Kong Baptist University. Founded in 1961 the Department of Biology seeks to cultivate our students on two fields of biology (biotechnology and environmental science).
The Department now invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher. This is an open search; we seek an outstanding scientist whose research will enhance and complement our existing programmes.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include establishing a vigorous externally funded research programmes teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses supervising students and contributing to departmental service. Collaboration with other faculty members in research and teaching is also expected.
Requirements:
Applicants should hold a PhD in a related discipline and demonstrate excellence in research and teaching. They are expected to be energetic and self-motivated. They will also actively participate in current research and teaching programmes of the Department and be capable of securing individual research grants. Those with substantial teaching experience and a good record of scholarly achievements will be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor/Professor.

More information about the Department can be found at is a tenure-track position with an initial appointment to be made on a fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Tenure is expected to be attained within six years.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
