The TD Securities Inc. (TDSI) Compliance Department is responsible for the compliance strategy and oversight programs including designing and implementing monitoring and supervisory programs for the firm.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for supporting TDS compliance program with regards to regulatory rules policies and procedures affecting Trading Operations Technology and Finance. This position will act as a contact point for Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) initiatives both internal and external audit examinations and provide oversight and review of the Canadian Markets business. Another key function of this role will be to support the regulatory change management process for TD Securities Inc. Compliance. The Co-op will provide advisory responsibilities for the firms Canadian Markets (Listed markets and Over the Counter securities) sales and trading specifically regarding regulatory requirements. This position will report to the Manager TDS Regulatory Engagement.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support various functions within the TDS Compliance Advisory team
Conducting monitoring and surveillance activities
Providing training and education
Promoting a compliance culture within the firm
Taking preventative measures to ensure compliance with laws rules and regulations (LRRs)
Implementing policies and procedures designed to achieve compliance with applicable LRRs
Licensing and registrations
Lead and manage the intake of new and emerging regulatory requirements and manage several regulatory related programs with the objective of ensuring TD remains compliant with regulatory requirements
Advise the business on key questions or policy and regulation which they follow

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree/diploma in Finance Accounting Analytics Data Business/Commerce or related field
Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term (requirement of all co-op/intern positions)
Proficiency Requirements and Skills:
University degree or relevant experience
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
High attention to detail and advanced critical thinking with strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to multi-task work independently to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
Project management skills and experience
Strong personal integrity in dealing with confidential and sensitive information
Self-motivated confident and capable of working both independently and in a team environment
Other Qualifications Skills and Experience:
Ability to understand analyze interpret and apply such regulations in an operational context in an environment that is ever changing and has competing priorities
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects many with tight deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team yet understand when matters need to be escalated to senior management
Ability to deal with staff and management at all levels in TD Securities and TDBG
Ability to think critically and make decisions
