Job Summary

Senior FinOps Analyst Cloud Cost Management

Cloud financial optimization role within the insurance industry driving Azure and AWS cost transparency budgeting forecasting and executive reporting. Hybrid Toronto opportunity offering high visibility strategic stakeholder exposure and direct impact on enterprise cloud governance and financial performance.

What is in it for you:

Salaried: $40-45 per hour.
Incorporated Business Rate: $50-55 per hour.
12-month contract.
Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
Hybrid work: currently 1 day onsite moving to 3 days onsite.

Responsibilities:

Track and manage cloud spend against budget and forecast and analyze and explain variances.
Identify key drivers behind cloud consumption and spending trends across Azure and AWS environments.
Monitor budgets and proactively identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and financial control.
Partner with finance engineering and business stakeholders to enhance transparency and support data-driven decision-making.
Collaborate with the FinOps Insights team and optimization partners to identify and track cost-saving initiatives.
Use internal reporting tools and Azure and AWS portals to analyze billing and usage data.
Create clear executive-ready dashboards visualizations and reports on cloud spend and forecasts.
Conduct monthly 1:1 meetings to review reports and discuss cloud spend performance including how much was spent why and where.
Address and resolve billing issues in collaboration with relevant internal teams.
Perform detailed data gathering and large-scale data analysis to support financial insights and recommendations.
Engage in regular stakeholder discussions to present findings and support strategic planning.
Contribute as an individual contributor in a high-visibility environment with direct impact on financial and operational outcomes.

What you will need to succeed:

Bachelors degree in Business Finance Accounting Technology or a related field is considered an asset.
FinOps certification.
4 years of experience in FinOps cloud financial management or technology finance.
Hands-on experience with Azure and AWS cost management and billing.
Strong experience in budgeting forecasting and variance analysis.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to work effectively with large datasets.
Ability to communicate complex cost and usage data in a clear business-friendly manner.
Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
Practical experience working with both Azure and AWS environments.
Basic coding or scripting skills such as SQL Python or PowerShell.
Experience using AI or low-code tools such as Copilot Studio to automate reporting or analysis.
Familiarity with tagging strategies cost allocation methodologies and showback or chargeback practices.
