Job Description

Overview

The Geotechnical team includes more than 80 employees who in recent years have participated in major projects such as the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge and the development of Quebecs battery industry.

Your Role

• Monitor drilling and trench excavation work for geotechnical and environmental exploration;

• Collect and describe soil rock and groundwater samples;

• Perform surveying using GPS and/or level;

• Use specialized equipment such as geo-camera inflatable packers dilatometer pressuremeter vane shear tester and others;

• Draft and complete various site reports;

• Report technical issues to the project manager or coordinator;

• Comply with current safety measures.

About You

• Hold a college diploma (DEC) in environment civil engineering mineral technology or a university degree in geology or equivalent;

• Have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience;

• Knowledge in soil identification;

• Able to communicate in French (oral and written) and English* (oral is an asset);

• Hold an ASP Construction safety card;

• Knowledge of measuring instruments used on site;

• Be in good physical condition;

• Available to work different shifts;

• Available to travel frequently including to remote areas;

• Hold a valid drivers license in Quebec.

*This position requires knowledge of another language besides French namely English as you will be part of a Canadian global or regional management team and will need to collaborate with colleagues outside Quebec.
