Weoffer a range of services and initiatives designed to proactively enhance positive mental health and wellbeing of over 33000 members and practitioners from across NSW.

We are currently looking for a full time permanent Wellbeing Officer to join our Membership & Engagement team starting in 2026.

About the role

The Wellbeing Officer is responsible for assisting the Wellbeing Manager in the identification development and implementation of those services and initiatives which support individual legal practitioners while also seeking to provide law practices with the appropriate resources and frameworks to improve wellbeing within their respective workplaces.

You will be able to offer critical insights to the development of these resources and assist in their coordination and implementation. This requires an existing base of relevant knowledge and an ability to continually develop your understanding of the challenges faced by solicitors and other professionals in their occupational and personal lives.

As a supporting member of the Insights & Engagement team you will support the Wellbeing Manager in the development and delivery of strategic initiatives and programs designed to service and support specific members of the profession through the various stages of their legal career journeys ensuring that all we do is underpinned by the need to ensure a thriving and successful legal profession in NSW.

This role is ideal for an experienced professional with developing specialised knowledge and skills in mental health professional wellbeing and/or law who has a particular passion for personal and professional development.

What youll be doing

  • Assist the Wellbeing Manager in developing implementing and monitoring wellbeing resources and interpersonal training programs tailored to the unique needs of legal professionals.
  • Coordination and practical involvement with the implementation of wellbeing resources programs and initiatives;
  • Collaboration on development of new training workshops and presentations;
  • Assisting with the conveyance of certain training seminars or programs including intermittent training delivery;
  • Feedback gathering and data collation on relevant programs;
  • Liaison with internal and external stakeholders; and
  • Internal liaisonand coordination with our internal Events Continuing Professional Development and Communications teams.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to assist in training and program delivery and day-to-day project coordination on an ongoing basis.
  • Monitor and remain knowledgeable on current industry research trends the output of similar organisations. This includes staying up-to-date with developments relevant to the legal profession with respect to organisational culture interpersonal skills professional psychosocial safety and mental health and wellbeing including areas that are unique to specific segments of the profession itself.
  • Provide active and reliable support to the Wellbeing Manager throughout the identification development and implementation of new initiatives and programs. This will include offering critical insights during planning processes assisting the Wellbeing Manager with the day-to-day operational functions of new and existing resources and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support the Wellbeing Manager in the determination of the needs of the Law Society and the broader profession with respect to mental health and wellbeing.

About you

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in one of the following fields or similar: Law Teaching Consumer Science Sociology Nursing (Mental Health) Social Work Human Resources Communications Political Science.
  • Previous professional or lived experience in research and development marketing and design organisational health and safety customer service event coordination crisis management childcare or aged care is highly desirable.
  • Developing competency in public speaking or openness to develop this skill.
  • Ability to write clearly and succinctly and to communicate actively clearly and patiently.
  • Strong administrative skills especially with respect to abilities in scheduling writing and grammar and organisation of written materials and visual resources.
  • Competencyin technology and common office software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite Teams Copilot Asana etc.).
  • Strong abilities in perspective-taking and conflict resolution
  • Skilled in critical analysis
  • Highly flexible creative and optimistic
  • Strong ability to identify sources of conflict and appreciate opposing views simultaneously
  • Detail-conscious with the ability to work under tight deadlines and tolerate periods of higher demand
