Position Summary
The Accounting Manager is charged with overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. This leader is also expected and will be required to dedicate time to managing mentoring training and directing accounting staff. This role will primarily be responsible for oversight of Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable and Tax functions of the company. Additionally the role will assist with oversight of month-end/year-end close processes and ensure the accuracy and timely completion of all financial records in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
Position Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor accounting staff serving as a resource for technical guidance career development and personal growth
- Lead multiple accounting disciplines providing guidance on a variety of topics with versatility to solve and adapt.
- Lead manage and develop the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams ensuring operational excellence driving efficiency and accuracy.
- Design and implement AR strategies including invoicing collections automation and point-of-sale activities.
- IdentifyevaluateandimplementsoftwaresolutionstoenhanceAccountsPayableprocesses.
- Optimize existing systems (ERP Salesforce) to improve Accounts Receivable workflows.
- IdentifyandexecutesystemsandsoftwaresolutionsintheAPdepartmenttosupportsignificantvolumeincreases.
- Act asthe primary coordinator andsubject matter expert for tax filingsincludingsales taxincome tax foreign subsidiaries property taxes and incentive programs.
- Serveasakeycontributorto annualprojectssuchasyear-endinventorycounts.
- Takeownershipofad-hocprojectssupporting companygrowth andscalability.
- Ensurecompliancewithcompanypoliciesandapplicableaccountingstandards.
- Provide support to senior leadership presenting information on all key accounting matters.
- Lead auditactivitiesprovidingoversightand supporttoaccountingstaffduringaudits.
- Leadprojectswithbankexaminersandassist theaccountingteamthroughouttheprocess.
- Manage projects involving third-party parts and equipment appraisers ensuring accurate valuations.
PositionQualifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting or a related business field
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience including managerial responsibilities
- StrongknowledgeofGAAPandinternalcontrols
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems
- Excellentanalyticalorganizationalandcommunicationskills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
IdealCandidates
- Masters degree in accounting or related business field CPA or CPA progression.
- ProvenexperiencemanagingprojectsfocusedonAccountsPayableandAccountsReceivablesoftware enhancements.
- Strongbackground inhandling complex billingtransactions involving multiple municipalitiesand numerous end customers withinasingletransaction.
- Prior experience working with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) is highly desirable.
- Self-starter with experience in a fast-paced growing and evolving organization.
