USCs School of Cinematic Arts is seeking a Physical Production Administrator. This position provides key support and expertise to faculty & students of the School of Cinematic Arts through the programs of the Physical Production Office (PPO). The Physical Production Administrator assists students in safety related issues and has the authority to approve student safety plans on behalf of the PPO. The role requires working closely with and advising faculty to ensure production policies and procedures are communicated and that adequate training is provided. The person in this role also manages the insurance processes and provides expertise to inform the policies of the Office. The role requires an interest and appreciation for working with students and aiding them in the process of making their films across a wide range of experience-levels. Previous on-set production experience is essential especially in roles that entail safety planning and production management.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Review advise and approve student safety plans
  • Collaborate and assist faculty in implementing physical production policies and procedures through frequent dialogue and presence in classrooms
  • Oversee implementation of insurance processes for student productions - including COI requests updating vendor lists communicating with Risk Management offices reviewing and tracking claims etc
  • Advise upon produce and implement safety training and communication materials for staff and students
  • Vet build and maintain key crew resources for students including stunt coordinators intimacy coordinators and studio teachers
  • Manage student worker schedules and onboarding for new hires
  • Other tasks and projects related to Physical Production Office programs as needed

The salary range for this position is $88000 - $95000. When extending an offer of employment the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position the candidates work experience education/training key skills internal peer equity federal state and local laws contractual stipulations grant funding as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Experience:

Minimum Education:

Bachelors degree

Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education

Minimum Experience:

3 years

Preferred Education:

Masters degree

Minimum Field of Expertise:

Directly related professional experience in areas of film production production safety and/or production insurance.

Preferred Field of Expertise:

Education or experience with development of training materials advising students and/or higher education.

Minimum Education: Bachelors degree Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Experience: 3 years
Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related professional experience in area of program specialization.
